How Microneedling with PRP or PDGF Works

A small blood draw is processed to concentrate your platelet-rich plasma. The skin is then microneedled to create controlled micro-channels, and the PRP is applied to the treated skin during the session. PDGF is another option; your provider will explain its use and how it differs from PRP.

About PDGF

PDGF (platelet-derived growth factor) is a signaling protein involved in tissue repair, collagen production and skin regeneration. When paired with microneedling, it is used with the goal of enhancing the skin's natural healing response and improving overall skin quality. PRP naturally contains PDGF along with several other growth factors, including VEGF, TGF-β and EGF. The topical PDGF used at NFuze is a laboratory-produced recombinant form of PDGF-BB, providing a more standardized concentration of that particular growth factor without a blood draw.
